Therefore, nickel crucibles are commonly used to melt iron alloys, slag, clay, and refractory materials.<\/li>\n<li>The temperature of the nickel crucibles to melt samples should <strong>not exceed 700\u00b0C<\/strong>, as at high temperature, nickel will be oxidized.<\/li>\n<li>The nickel crucibles <strong>cannot<\/strong> be used for the burning of <strong>precipitation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Nickel crucibles are <strong>suitable<\/strong> for melting samples of NaOH, Na<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub>, Na<sub>2<\/sub>CO<sub>3<\/sub>, NaHCO<sub>3<\/sub> and alkaline solvents containing KNO<sub>3<\/sub>. It is <strong>not suitable<\/strong> for melting samples of acidic solvents such as KHSO<sub>4<\/sub> or NaHS0<sub>4<\/sub>, K<sub>2<\/sub>S<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>7<\/sub> or Na<sub>2<\/sub>S<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>7<\/sub> and alkaline sulfide flux containing sulfur.<\/li>\n<li>Metal salts such as Al, Zn, Pb, Sn, Hg in the molten state can make the nickel crucible <strong>brittle<\/strong>.
